Standard DVDs are produced on High Quality DVD Recorders. The DVDs will usually play from start to finish and will have a basic menu, that can be accessed by the user with their Remote Control and pressing the "DISK MENU" button.
These DVDs are similar to those that you would rent from your local Video store. They are designed to play on DVD players and most Computer DVD drives. They are not designed for editing, although it can be done, with the aid of specialist software and advanced computer knowledge.
Markers (called CHAPTER MARKS) are placed at various points throughout the recording, so that the user can "jump" quickly from one point of the recording, to another point.

AUTHORED DVDs
Authored DVDs are produced on a computer. The main advantage is they allow you to handle multiple clips, a lot easier. When you insert an Authored DVD, you will immediately be presented with a Front Menu, that has been customed designed. You wll have the ability to play each video clip nidividually and for it to return to the Main menu upon completion, rather than them all playing consecutively.

DATA DVDs
A DATA DVD is basically your video footage, saved as "computer editable data" and stored on a DVD ! The most commonly used format is called MPEG2.
The user simply takes the dvd that we supply and copies the file from the DVD, onto their computer. Then they can then begin to edit. This is very handy, if you want to edit your videos, but dont want to pay a video editor to do it. You should of course have some editing software, that you are familar with using.
Our company can provide such editable DATA on DVDs to or from UK (PAL) or USA (NTSC) video formats. For example, you may have a camcorder tape in NTSC but you want to do some editing and save the finished work onto a PAL DVD. We will convert your NTSC camcoder tape, so you are provided with PAL editable data, stored on a DVD.
Data DVDs, provided by us will play back on a computer, with programs such as WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER and REAL PLAYER. They will NOT play on a dedicated DVD player.
